Ian Harby started playing the clarinet at school, and gained broad experience by taking the opportunity to join a number of local musical groups. After University Ian joined the Band of the Welsh Guards as a clarinet and saxophone player, where he became Co-principal Clarinet. As well as playing for major ceremonial occasions, during his time in the Army he toured in America, Canada, Europe and Egypt.
Don has had a successful career with the Wellcome Foundation and Logica. Amongst other tasks he write the Band's "begging letters". He now combines this with teaching at Bexley College and repairing brass instruments. A former tenor horn player, Don has moved to playing French horn.
Having progressed through the junior music sections Steve Denniss was principal cornet for the Romford Salvation Army band for a number of years, also having a spell as Bandmaster. As well as playing Trumpet in the DCB, Steve also plays in a rock band and a brass quintet. His hobbies include running, and flying light aircraft.
